Long time lots to talk about

6 months later from my last post and we're less than 3 weeks out from going on our terminal leave from the military. Before I get into that excitement it's been quite a busy and long six months.

We got to visit home in February, Chris' first time since the fall of '08. It was great but certainly not long enough.

Paisley learned to crawl, stand up by herself, get into the dog food and has become obsessed with it, knows how to say I love you or "I dddooooo", mommy, daddy, tickle tickle and is a couple days maybe a week or so away from walking. She's taken 5 steps by herself, which has been the most and that was two days ago but since then she's learned to climb up on the chair using her play table so she's really on the go now. Once she gets the walking down by herself she's going to be running from us.

Chris has been out to sea quite a bit most of april and may he was rarely home if at all. Although once May hit it seemed as though all the resumes he put out there were finally being seen and he was getting more and more emails from companies. He landed phone interviews with Minnesota, Tennessee, Wisconsin, New York and New Hampshire. Tennessee and New Hampshire are no longer in the running but he was flown out to Minnesota this past Monday for an in person interview where they offered him the job and took him out to lunch. He flew back Tuesday had Wednesday off and flew to New York on Thursday and had an in person interview this morning followed by a written test. No word on the results of that until Monday or so. Minnesota only gave him a few days to take the deal there so on Monday he will be accepting the offer from Minnesota. He will also be trying to get some days off this week to fly to Wisconsin to see what they have to offer him as well but as of right now it looks as though we might be Minnesotan's! We're ecstatic! He officially has 3 duty days left, and maybe 3 full working days left if they let him go to Wisconsin, if they don't then it's 5 working days. Then he'll be working on checking out with his command until he goes on terminal leave the 5th of July.

So I've been packing things up, getting rid of things in the garage sale pile. We did very well on our first garage sale we held last weekend and hope to have another one but with everything going on I don't think we have the time.

We are having a going away party/birthday party for us and Paisley next Sunday to say goodbye to everyone and after that hopefully flying out to Minnesota to find a place to live then back for a couple days to pack the rest of our things, have the movers come and get out of California!

These next couple weeks are going to be hectic and exciting and we can't wait.
Hopefully more definitive answers by the end of the week! But I have officially cancelled our cable and internet at the end of the month. Just another step to having this move feel more realistic and so close.
